People offering lifts would be able to select all the towns they can pick up from and then enter a list of all the meetings they attend on a regular basis. E.G. I can pick up from Pontypridd, Trefforest, and Cardiff and I regularly go to the Cardiff, Llantrisant, Pontypridd and Swansea meetings.

Those looking for lifts would then be able to enter the town they need picking up from to search for a list of lifts available

This wouldn't work very well, like the idea for reducing carbon footprint of 20+ cars for a meeting but I don't think it will work as I'm guessing most business owners have places to go directly from a 4networking meeting.

Time for a hybrid car leasing company to jump on 4networking. They are getting better and better

I think there must be some mileage in it (no pun intended!) but I can see Stephen's point as well.

I would like to think that effective networking could lead to this anyway - if I found a fellow 4N'er lived near me or was on my route and needed a lift I'd be happy to offer.

I would not want to pick up strangers to attend meetings - would be ok if you knew these but could lead to trouble

Great idea! I think it could also have the effect of encouraging some 4Ners to go to meetings they might not otherwise go to. Grab a lift with the 4sighter or dare I say it the RL

It would have to be up to the individuals to contact each other and negotiate a lift so this should get around the whole stranger thing

Its a good idea, but there has been cases where I have nto been able to make a meeting at very short notice, and it would potentially drop others in it :(

Can I grab a lift in the 4N helicopter to take me to Gordano?

Is this not commonplace already everywhere else, in this region I think we do it pretty frequently already, especially as very few groups round here have great public transport. We just arrange it so we share the load.

I am not going to say it won't work, as it will in certain circumstances.

A 4N Car Pool section would be OK and people who can give others a lift can post on there and then people can PM them to arrange a lift etc...

I would offer others a lift but most don't want to be at the venue for 07:30 and more importantly, I drive down a lot of back lanes to get to my venues and I do not know of many farmers in the area that go to 4N.

I don't see a need in doing a full on development of anything on the site, a simple sub section for it first to give it a try could work.  Then again, there is only a small portion of group members that actively use the forums, so not sure if you are going to get to the right target groups?
