Can anyone out there make a recommendation for an inexpensive CRM that might suit creative agencies? We've looked at lots of options, but they are either too salesy (Act, Sugar, Capsule) or purely project management (BaseCamp, Huddle etc.). In an ideal world we would like the ability to manage customer prospects and live projects, along with client contact information all in one place without paying through the nose - is there such a system? Any recommendations, especially from other creative agencies would be greatly appreciated!

I have also been looking for a new system.One that has caught my eye is Streamtime and I think it will tick all the boxes that you mention. There are some nice features and you can download a free trial. I do particularly like the idea of the reporting feature that is on here. Have a look, see what you think... Cheers

Maybe look at Highrise from 37Signals, rather than Basecamp? There's a free plan, with no time limit, to try it out.

We use Brighpearl , Francis and find it excellent for a service-based company such as ourselves. It includes CRM and Accounting, so it might not be exactly what you're after if you have the Accounting side already sorted. However there is also a 30-day trial http://www.brightpearl.com/?aid=36722 to help decide. CRM for (creative) agencies has many specific details which are typically not covered by most middle of the road CRM systems, including those which cover to some degree a service based business. The project management in an agency is quite specific and different. Not comparable with retail and many other 'normal' cases. I suggest to look at the structure of the revenue streams in an agency to see what fits and what doesn't. That's why Streamtime stands out from all the other recommendations given in this thread.
