Uckfield FM is a not for profit voluntary organisation. We have a team of 80 members and as a community radio station we have to be funded by more than just advertising and sponsorship. We apply for local and national grants and run other fundraising events in order to keep the service on air.
The station broadcasts to a potential population of around 25,000 within a 7 mile radius of Uckfield town centre.
We broadcast from studios based at Bird in Eye Farm near Framfield.
I am co-founder, breakfast show presenter and Business Development Manager of Uckfield FM (Uckfield Community Radio Limited). The station was set up in 2002 to support the Uckfield Festival group.
In 2010 we became a full time community radio station serving Uckfield and the surrounding villages. Broadcasting from studios at Bird in Eye Farm on the edge of town, the station broadcasts a variety of programmes to suit all ages groups.
My role as BDM, is to support the business community with commercial advertising and sponsorship opportunities. Because the station is only serving the Uckfield area, the rates to advertise are very affordable compared to advertising other media. For information about the businesses already supporting the station, please visit the business directory at uckfieldfm.co.uk
