About Giles Etherington

I have over twenty-five years’ experience working in advertising and design agencies, from the largest agency network in the world to his own one-man business.

I have worked in London, San Francisco, Amsterdam, Jersey and Edinburgh.

I have been lucky enough to work on some of the world’s most recognised brands: Andrex, BT, Esso, Heineken, Kellogg’s, Nestle, Persil, Volvo, to name but a few.

My credits include work on many famous advertising campaigns: the Maureen Lipman Beattie campaign for BT, the Andrex puppy, the Esso tiger and Snap, Crackle & Pop and Tony the Tiger for Kellogg’s Rice Krispies and Kellogg’s Frosties respectively.

Since the late 90’s, Giles has become more and more involved with the strategic direction of the creative approach for his clients.

Today, I apply my knowledge on the principles and importance of brands and branding, to help SMEs who have either never approached their business as a brand before, or are not making the most of the brand they have.

I moved to the Scottish Borders in 2006 and has run businesses from there ever since.

I am also:

  • Industry Associate (for Brand Creation & Branding) for the Cultural Enterprise Office, Scotland
  • Mentor for Creative Edinburgh
  • Mentor for Napier University
  • B2B Creative Services Advocate for CABN
  • Creative Industries representative on the steering group of the Scottish Borders Business Forum
