Case StudiesPaignton, Devon Charming and full of character, this 3 bedroom former police house was purchased by an investor client. Unfortunately, due to various circumstances, the house was initially valued at much less than the mortgage arranged and a lot less than our client had intended to resell it for! 
Although the bedrooms were of generous size and the house had lots of rooms downstairs, at first glance the living accommodation looked fairly small and without furniture it was difficult for viewers to 'visualise' how the property could look and how it could be lived in. We arranged a full 'show-home package' of furniture and accessories for the house, completed a couple of small redecorating jobs and advised on the marketing and re-launching of the property onto the open market, via an open day. 
Our client was delighted (and so were we!) that in this time of the dreaded 'credit crunch' the house was very well received and resulted in 3 interested parties all offering on the house….and the final figure was £45,000 over the highest valuation! |
Shepherd's Bush 
A 'compact and bijou' 1 bed apartment in a central location, ideal for those working in the city….so what was preventing the sale?? The apartment had been on the market for a good few weeks before we became involved and the agents were hard pushed to get anyone interested in it. The photos were drab and boring; it wasn't furnished and looked very small. It was hard to imagine just how the property could be styled. 
We came up with a simple rental package of furniture and accessories, styled the apartment to include an eating and relaxing area but kept to the modern minimalist look dictated by the space. New photos and details were prepared by the agent and…19 viewings were booked in the first week after we had completed the styling. It sold for the asking price very soon after! |

Having always had a passion for property & interiors I finally left a well paid sales & marketing job (with a company car!) to re-train as an Interior Designer. After qualifying and also winning a 'Student of the year' award, I worked on various projects and had two children! I came across an opportunity to join a national 'Home Staging' Company where I gained masses of experience helping domestic and commercial clients add value and style to their property investments. It also gave me the opportunity to work with much bigger companies such as Redrow Homes and Crown Paints.
The Property Styling Company was set up in 2007. Since then we have specialised in helping Property Owners (Traders, Developers, Buy to Let Investors, Holiday Landlords and Home Owners) to maximise the value and potential of their investment(s), whether they are Selling, Letting or looking to improve their living accommodation.
People will tell you that houses aren't selling and that prices are dropping...well in some instances that is true but I have had a hugely busy time rushing around the country staging properties for a faster sale or let and...... the majority are under offer. One particular apartment had had little interest and was languishing on the estate agents books...once staged and styled for sale, it had 3 offers on it in the first week and 19 more viewings booked!
