Dêmos is the ancient Greek term for People and I’m a true believer that people are a company’s best asset. As an independent consultant, I provide a tailored HR service to business owners and managers in SMEs to help them get the best from their people by providing advice, support and guidance across multiple fields of HR including people development, people engagement, people management, people objectives and people strategy.

I do this by ensuring that policies and procedures are fair, legal and personalised to the business, dealing with any problem areas or recurring issues, and by coaching business owners and managers to increase their confidence in dealing with their people so they become the solution and not the problem.

I have 15 years of senior HR experience in the FM and waste management sectors and have provided support to clients on topics such as contracts of employment, redundancy programmes, mergers and acquisitions, disciplinary and grievance cases, organisational design, job evaluation, employee engagement and employment law to name but a few.

I can provide assistance on an ad-hoc, retained or project-specific basis depending on the needs of the client.

I'm an independent HR Consultant based in Manchester, covering the whole of the North West and often beyond!

I set up my consultancy in 2017 after 15 years working in in-house HR departments for large well-respected brands in the FM and waste management/recycling sectors. I gained a wealth of experience and exposure in all fields of generalist HR and spent the last few years of my career specialising in the engagement and reward arena where I saw first hand what companies who truly believe their people are their best asset can achieve and as a passionate advocate of putting people first I work with owners and managers of SMEs to create and develop processes in each stage of the employment life cycle which are not just legally compliant, but fair, consistent and transparent.
