GAP Cleaning Services has been trading since October 2016; it is run by Andy Sharpe, en ex-soldier of 26 years. During his military career, Andy has witnessed how run-down, ramshackle barrack rooms can be (and had to be!) cleaned to the very highest standards and suffer scrutiny by white-gloved Officers. Andy has brought this ethos in to GAP Cleaning services where he rejuvinates tired looking patios and driveways to make them look as good as new.
GAP cleaning Services offer professional cleaning of patios, driveways and other similar hard surfaces. The majority of this cleaning work is done using high pressure water, but sometimes chemicals are required such as the reduction of oil stains.
GAP Cleaning Services also professionally cleans gutters, both internal and external, using ground-based equipment.
Andy's aim is to provide customers with a freindly, expert service at a competitive price.
Although I don't live in Yorkshire anymore, I still class myself as a Yorkshireman and live up to the values of my upbringing; respect for others, honesty and integrity being right up there.
Up until recently, my adult life was spent in the Army. I was an Armourer in the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers. I completed a two year apprenticeship learning engineering and weapon repair with a side order of electrical and optical instrument repair, as well as the basic soldiering skills which set me up in life well. I have served in the UK and in Germany and have seen deployments to many parts of the world including Operational stints in Northern Ireland, Bosnia, Iraq and Afghanistan. My journey in the Armed Forces saw me from toolbox through management and I left in 2016 with the rank of Warrant Officer Class One; my last job saw me in a three-man management team managing 18 teams of engineers from as few as 15 men to 300 looking after over 15,000 pieces of equipment from weapons to vehicles deployed throughout UK and Germany.
My apprenticeship gained me a City and Guilds 205 in Engineering. Since then I have progressed and now hold a First Class BEng (hons) in Engineering, as well as a second degree in Management. I also hold qualifications in Project Management (APMP) and Health and Safety (BSC)
After leaving the Armed Forces, my life has calmed down somewhat and I have started a business cleaning patios, driveways and gutters. Although it doesn't sound as glamourous as Engineering Management, the job satisfaction and the ability to control my own pace of life is more than a good a trade off.
I have a son, Kaelan, who is eight and lives in Yorkshire with a dragon.
I live with Toni, a Sports Massage and Remedial Therapist who makes me laugh on a daily basis. I couldn't be happier.
