At Setfords our aim is simple: to provide the best legal advice by creating an environment where lawyers can do their best work.
Our innovative and creative ways of operating mean our lawyers have the support and flexibility to deliver the dedicated, personal service our clients need at a price they can afford. When Setfords was founded in 2006 the intention was to create a firm that addressed the frustrations faced by many people using legal services which is why we have made these commitments:
Provide expert advice at a competitive price
As well as a team of full-time lawyers based in our Guildford office we have over 170 consultant lawyers based both locally and across the UK. Each one is supported by a 50-strong central team. It means they are empowered and free to work in a more effective way.
When you employ one of them to deliver legal services that is who will deal with your case from start to finish – you won’t be handed off to a junior member of staff.
And because we aren’t housing all of our lawyers in one place, our costs are lower, which means you get that expert advice at a more competitive price than you might expect to pay at a traditional firm.
Ensure all our clients get the dedicated service they deserve
In many firms lawyers have billing targets, meaning they’re encouraged to take on as many clients as possible, and that can mean the service suffers. But that’s not how we work. Our lawyers are focused on one thing: providing the best possible personal service. Our lawyers are thinking about you, not us.
Trust is at the heart of everything we do so we say what we mean and deliver what we promise. You can have confidence in us because of the way we operate. We support our lawyers so they can support you.

“I asked Simon to review contracts for me, and the work done was highly professional, prompt, with great accuracy and attention to detail. He also took ownership of some of the issues that arose from the review, and negotiated over aspects of the contracts with the external suppliers to positive effect. I was very impressed by his professional approach, and have no hesitation in recommending him.” Deputy Academic Registrar – University of Sunderland
“Simon was approachable and a great support. His contribution was invaluable. He made the complicated process of the legal system seem easy for the layman and had a positive and supportive approach throughout.” Studio Manager – HEART EM
“Simon undertook some legal work for a new supplier we were entering into contract with. I found Simon to be prompt, efficient and highly professional.
