About Graeme Hartley

A little about me...

I am married to Jo and together we have a daughter called Olivia, who is 9. I have 3 children from a previous relationship, they are Chris, Jen & Beckie. My son, my eldest child is 33. That's a big age gap I know!

We all love walking and get up to the 'Lakes' as often as we can.

I have been involved in amateur dramatics and choirs since 1980. I have been fortunate to play some great roles, but probably my most favourite was playing the lead role in 'Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat', back in 1986 (reprised in 1990), for which I won 'Leading Man of the Year'.

I was a member of 'Sing Live' for many years. This was a choir of upto 250, who performed mostly at The Bridgewater Hall with a 34 piece orchestra. I remember deciding to audition for a solo in my first concert in 2002. To be honest, I didn't think I stood a chance, however, I ended up performing 'Gethsemane' from Jesus Christ Superstar to an audience of 2500. It was AMAZING! Following that I was fortunate to be given the oppportunity to perform many solo's from the shows, including, Love Changes Everything from Aspects of Love, This is the Moment from Jekyll and Hyde, Mac the Knife from The Threepenny Opera. I also got the chance to sing some great pop ballads, When You Say Nothing At All, being one of them.

I suppose I tell you all this, because it is a hobby that has helped me be more confident as a person and most definately helped me in my career.

A little about my career...

I started my electrical apprenticeship in 1976 at GKN, a steel works in Bredbury. YES, there really was a steelworks in Bredbury! I also worked for North West Water Authority for 10 years before a change in career, that being moving into sales.

2016 marked my 30th anniversary in Sales, a 30 years that saw me working in roles such as, Account Manager, Sales Director and as a Regional Sales Manager, to name but a few. 20 of those 30 years were in senior positions. I gained tremendous personal satisfaction from coaching and mentoring and when the time came to hang up my 'Corporate' boots, it seemed natural to start a business that drew on a specific area of operation from my past roles that I enjoyed, hence the 'Business Coaching company.
