I was made redundant from a Financial Services company in London at the end of 1993. Disillusioned with working for other people, I then bought into a franchise offering a wedding gift list service. Unfortunately, the franchisor did not play his part well, and left us stranded!

A colleague then introduced me to the concept of network marketing. After a period of illness with ME, and having sampled the unique taste of aloe vera gel, I was sold both on the network marketing concept and the Forever Living Products range - this had helped me well on the road to recovery.

Not one for doing things the easy way, I was determined to obtain a Masters Degree alongside building my business and helping another colleague in a completely different venture. After 5 years with the Open University, I emerged with an MBA and a beautiful certificate to put on my wall.

My colleague's venture, working for someone else again, started well, but we soon felt that we should be 'doing this for ourselves' and 5 of us broke loose to set up our own company, in the exam content and e-assessment industry.
