About Me
I've had the benefit of being trained by some of the best psychotherapists, psychologists & trainers who themselves have a worldwide reputation. However, training is only part of my story. What I bring to my clients in informed by thousands of hours of experience from working with individuals, couples and groups, as well as my own personal experiences.
Born in Weston Super Mare, a town in the South West of England, in 1968, and growing up on council estates, presented its own problems for me. I attended local schools, however, didn't really “apply myself”. This meant that I left school with few qualifications. At first I worked as a trainee mechanic, and then took on manual jobs on various building sites. At the age of nineteen, I started working as a bus driver for the local bus company. Looking back, this is when I first started to work with people, and I really enjoyed it. After five years I started to yearn for something more, yet didn't know what. Through twists and turns of chance, fate and opportunity I was fortunate to get a post within Social Services. This was a fantastic opportunity and learning for me as I was working with individuals who had all sorts of problems to contend with on a daily basis. I saw firsthand the courage, strength and influence individuals displayed over their circumstances to achieve a better life for themselves, despite what they had been through. This (although I didn't know it at the time) was going to give me my first insight into human nature and people skills.
I've had some great times and other times when I found it extremely tough. I made mistakes and I've worked hard at getting things right. I've fallen at many hurdles many times and have the scares to prove it but it's those times when I learnt the most!
My natural temperament, my own life experiences and the people I have chosen to be with have helped me develop into a thoughtful, loyal, and patient person with a vast amount of determination. I have developed my own unique way of working based on my training, experience of working with thousands of clients and intuition, all of which has proven to be extremely successful to many individuals in enabling them to achieve amazing results.
