About Sue Watchurst

My name is Sue Watchurst. After a public sector career, I decided to set up The Organiser - a long time ambition.

I first thought about turning my organisational skills into a business when my Gran lived alone and needed help to remain independent. Dad, a businessman travelling the world, found it hard to keep up the support he so wanted to give and would have used 'The Organiser' to help him help her with things like changing a light bulb or taking her shoe shopping. How my Gran would have enjoyed an extra outing or two and more company!

Many of you will recognise the pressures that combining work, running a home and raising a family creates - just not enough hours in the day to organise everything and everyone. When I was doing that juggling I would have welcomed 'The Organisers' help with the extras like getting the car MOT'd, helping with one of our home moves, even wrapping Christmas presents !

Family life involves parties, family get-togethers and holidays and I've arranged lots.... themed children's parties, a surprise joint 60th for my parents, my own wedding and many holidays for the extended family. Sadly I also helped organise my dad's funeral - a time when most people need a little help.

I've been involved with my children's activities and as a result held positions of trust and responsibility - including swimming club treasurer, PTA fund raising, Junior rugby tour organiser and more. 'The Organiser' can give a hand to overstretched committees if required.

Currently I run a lively Girl guide unit involving considerable organisation - everything from health and safety planning, managing my leader team to camp fire songs. Resourcefulness and common sense play a large part too!

Team work has been a big part of my work life, often as line manager or project leader. As such I've organised, and sometimes facilitated too, numerous staff events - away days, workshops, training sessions and Christmas lunches! I've also managed business aspects including control of budgets and processing targets.

My experience, skills and qualifications include:

  • IT and communication
  • Professionally qualified internal systems auditor
  • Interviewing
  • Trained and experienced facilitator
  • Project Manager
  • Double entry bookkeeping
