I got into business continuity as a natural progression from having spent 10 years as an electrical engineer and 25 years designing complex IT systems for organisations of all sizes. Safety, Effectiveness and Efficiency have always been my watchwords and I always design systems that are safe to operate and resilient to failure.

Over time, I got more involved with the business processes that used IT as an enabling tool and again I was focused on making those processes resilient to failure. From that it was a small step to specialise in Business Continuity Management.

In my personal life I have two grown up children and live with my lovely wife Varina in St Neots, Cambridgeshire. Outside of work and family, I have been a Scout Leader for 15 years and a member of the Hertfordshire Scouts Mountaineering Team. As part of the latter, I instruct on mountaineering courses in Scotland at Easter most years.

I am also a keen radio amateur and hold the callsigns G6KVK and M5KVK. My main radio interests are long distance low power communications using digital modes and emergency support communications at time of natural emergencies or disasters.
