As an long-exiled Scot, born just outside Aberdeen, I'm proud of my Scottish heritage.

My career started in the hotel & catering industry (today, I love writing about anything 'foodie'). As a restaurant owner in the late 1980s, I developed a passion for marketing and PR. A career change and another spell at college took me into charity marketing and fundraising.

WORD-right was established in 2006 to give free reign to my passion for words and the impact they can have on a business. In the past 3 years I've also worked as a copywriting tutor, with students from across the world.

In my spare time (what's that?) there's nothing I like better than getting stuck in on the allotment, spending time with friends and family over a home-cooked meal, or just chilling out with a good book.

Looking to the future, WORD-right is planning its own in-house copywriting training courses and a 'newbie' writer mentoring service.
