After 20+ years in big organisations I decided to take the leap into self-employment to use my big-business expertise to help smaller businesses grow and change. After all, why should big businesses have it all their way?
As I don't profess to know everything about everything I joined a group of business advisors who operate throughout the UK and have a wide range of expertise ranging from accounting to zooology.
My own background encompasses engineering and technical in both public and private sector, specialising in quality systems, including Lean Six Sigma.
My passion is to see small businesses take that leap up to a more profitable operation. Big business moves slowly - and getting change to take place is like pushing a rock uphill; small businesses are more agile and dynamic - small things make a huge difference. And the rewards come quicker!
And one of the ways to do that is by using social media. We specialise in devising bespoke strategies that will deliver tangible results for businesses - it's a great way of building on the advice we provide in other areas of the business and gives a cohesive growth strategy for the business as a whole.
I love getting involved in sorting out business processes. I think it's because I'm naturally curious - but some people say I'm just nosy!
My background is in Engineering - aerospace, nuclear & automotive mainly and spent most of my career working on various aspects of Quality, change management & project managment.
Since leaving corporate life I've worked for a national charity, for a large public authority & with a host of different sized businesses from start ups within days of starting up, to multinationals, in almost every industry you can name.
My passion is seeing businesses develop & grow.
when I'm not working I'm usually travelling, watching motorsport and with a camera in tow.
