Phil worked in a few different roles & sectors after first graduating in 1991 & rapidly gained an ability to manage finances well buying his first property in 1994. As a result of being financially savvy family & friends started turning to him for unofficial advice, way before he became an Independent Financial Adviser.
Following redundancy from PricewaterhouseCoopers in 2001, Phil initially did contract work for several different organisations afterwards. The decision to become an IFA came after a friend rang up asking for mortgage advice when buying a house with his partner, now wife! To build on the experience of helping family & freinds Phil took the exams required to be an IFA whilst gaining experience with a financial services firm in Bradford & a corporate pensions administrator in Sheffield.
Phil became an IFA in 2007, which he admits in hindsight was not exactly the best timing! Having said that as with many financial matters, what you do in business is often much more important than the time you start. Since then Phil has achieved the new level of qualification needed to advise on investments, pensions & annuities and works with the national network 2plan wealth management Ltd, backed by a team of experts & support staff at their head office in Leeds.
