Started out in 1995, gaining four years clientside marketing experience with global leader in manufacture and supply of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for use in hazardous workplaces. This role covered inhouse managment of the Europe-wide marketing plan involving advertising, PR, exhibitions, sales collateral and technical literature, DM and digital.
I followed this up, from 1999-2006, with seven years agency experience in pharmaceutical marketing working with UK, Europe and US based clients in developing and delivering effective brand communications within specific therapy areas. These roles covered a range of tactical activities based on around conference & exhibition attendance, medical publications and direct to prescribing physician activities.
Since 2006, I switched tracks and have spent four years working predominantly in business-to-business marketing directing accounts with a range of industrial, engineering, construction, building services, manufacturing, telecoms and professional services clients. I have provided a broad range of design, advertising, media planning, PR, digital and event related services.
In June 2009, I started a blog which quickly developed a readership of 300+ a day and as a result in January 2010, I briefly operated a consultancy service which provided B2B clients with outsourced marketing support, chiefly in the areas of media, PR, digital eCRM, database, social media and event support.
2010-2014 I acted as Account Director, Head of Digital, Business Development DIrector and sat on the Leadership Team of international B2B agency Barrett Dixon Bell, delivering communications programmes for international clients across the entire marketing mix, leading multi-lingual teams, and designing and delivering the agency's digital marketing offering.
I became a Chartered Marketer through the CIM's CPD scheme in 2010 and completed two digital marketing postgraduate diplomas through MMU.
In 2015, after a short stint in brand and digital with Clock Creative, I created my own marketing and training business called Vision B2B which in three months has already secured three retained marketing clients and a number of training, speaking and consulting assignments too.
I understand the complex decision making, specifiying and purchasing channels that come into effect for clients in b2b sectors and provide simple, effective marketing recommendations that hit the right audience at the right time with the right message. Delivering marketing that makes a difference, gives a client an edge over the opposition, and provides tangible ROI.
