About Amanda Carlin

I live in rural Cambridgeshire with Aberdeen angus cattle and the cricket club to the front, open wheat fields and ponies to the rear. Mind you, I'm the least likely country girl you will ever meet. Orginating from the Essex suburbs, the phrase, "you can take the girl out of the bitumen, but you can't take the bitumen out of the girl" truly does apply to me!
As a young girl I was very, very fortunate to have adventurous parents. My father told me, "if you don't travel before you settle, you will never settle." So with this good advice in my head, my backpack to the ready, I travelled the world in a fabulous adventure. On the way learning about different; cultures, customs, food, sights, sounds and life.
I met my husband on my travels and two weeks after we were engaged, I returned to the UK hearing news that my mother was seriously ill. I enjoyed every second I spent with mum, catching up on news and telling her all about my adventures on my travels. My parents themselves were great travellers and I honestly cannot remember one year where they spent a full twelve months in the UK. Sadly mum passed away six weeks after my return.
My father suffered a massive heart attack three weeks after mum's passing and on further investigation he was found to have cancer. My father was sent to Papworth Hospital where he had a very serious operation. Shortly afterwards, my father was feeling a little better and flew to Australia where he met my lovely step mother.
In 1997 I married my incredible husband, on a beautifully sunny day, with a fabulous, flat, Fenland backdrop. Sadly two weeks later, whilst we were on our honeymoon, we received word that my father had given up his fight for life. I sometimes wonder at how incredibly lucky I was to have been given the best gift of all on our wedding day, my father walking me down the aisle! I will never forget that.
Today my husband and I are still in rural Cambridgeshire, we still have plenty of sights to see and countries to explore and yet, we are happy and settled. Perhaps, once you are truly settled the need to travel may not be so demanding.
I use my creative mind in conjunction with memories of the world I've seen, the people I've met and the stories I've heard. This knowledge coupled with research on historical characters or fact finding enables me to write accurate accounts of events or entrancing stories.  My personal background is in Marketing, PR & Writing.  My business AmandaCarlin.co.uk Ltd came into existence when I was freelancing.  I had organised for one of my client's sales team to visit an operations team at Glasgow International Airport, the meeting ran over and the sales team were forced to stay another night.  They called me and asked me to organise their hotel accommodation and gave me strict instructions on the type of place they would like to stay in.  The following morning, after the team had arrived back at Stansted, the Area Sales Director called me, whilst he was driving and asked me to update his CRM, which I did.  As I received more and more clerically based calls, I realised there was a need for business support on a virtual level, but a service that went beyond pure virtual assistance.  Business support working on a 24 hour basis, around the clock and throughout the world.  So AmandaCarlin.co.uk Ltd came into existence.  We now have a team of 9, offering any support service you could possibly need, whether you are a loan entrepreneur or running an internationally trading corporation.  We offer a cost effective service to everyone and a bespoke service to suit your needs.  Furthermore if you are about to start up in business or even if you are thinking of starting in business, we offer very cost effective Start Up workshops for only £5 per head for a 2 hour course.  If you love to network and also like to mentor, we offer a service helping people with their dreams (whatever they maybe), by placing them with mentors who want to give something back to the community or pass on their knowledge for their own pathway to success.

If you would like to know more, please feel free to contact me and I will be delighted to assist on the services we can offer or to tell you more about the work we do.
