I'm Gene Thompson, originally from London, I moved to Wales in 1987, after cutting my teeth in the design industry for a small London-based packaging design consultancy.

I am a very keen walker, and have completed the 2007 National Three Peaks Challenge in 21 hours and 3 minutes. In January 2012, I will be attempting to climb to the summit of Kilimanjaro in aid of The Stroke Association. I already have my sights set on the next challenge - The Inca Trail...

On a recent training course - it was determined that my personality type is that of a NURTURER... Someone who 'gives tender care and protection to a person or thing especially to help it grow or develop'. As the day progressed on it became evident that this is very true, even down to the way I dress and how I like to be treated by others. Then it dawned on me how important this personality type is to my line of business.

In order to develop an identity for a company, I must first get to know the business, its perceptions of itself, and its goals, and develop a relationship and take pride from watching it grow. I get no bigger buzz than watching a customer's face as I unveil their new identity - their comment is usally "How did you get to that from the information I gave you", the answer is simple... "Experience".

Maybe it's all down to fate after all?
