Smart Business Buying is based in Bristol and is dedicated to helping businesses increase their profits by saving them as much money as possible on the purchasing of their day-to-day business overheads.

if your business works on a profit margin of 25% then for every £100 wasted on your business overheads your business has to sell an additional £400 of product or service just to break even. We do not take a percentage of the savings as a fee and we do not charge a consultancy fee.

I spent my early career as a Radio Electronics Officer in the Merchant Navy where I saw the introduction of Global satellite navigation and the implementation of Inmarsat telecommunications. On my return to shore I went back to college to further my qualifications in Telecommunications, Electronics and Microprocessors.

I moved into Software Design using C and Assembler and trained in Project management. I spent many years responsible for new product introduction into manufacturing. At that time Quality Management Systems started to become a requirement for companies supplying to the MOD and I took up the challenge of implementing and managing the company's BS5750 quality management system (Now ISO9001).

I subsequently took on further responsibilities for product Manufacture, Sales and Operations within the electronics manufacturing environment. I have since introduced quality management systems into other companies allowing them to reduce scrap, reduce customer complaints and increase sales.

My systems approach coupled with my IT and software background soon found me implementing further computerised company systems including computerised ERP systems to control inventory and labour costs.

During my many years spent at senior management and director level in various electronics manufacturing companies I gained a great deal of experience and knowledge about what enables a company to grow and develop. I have been a great advocate for Quality and workmanship standards for many years and I am passionate about the benefits these systems bring to companies. I also spent many years in Cost control and purchasing. Cost reduction and cost savings in design and manufacture projects resulted in major profit boosts for the business.

I believe overhead costs can be a significant way in which to encrease profit without having to add new sales
