Gillian Campbell (Medisave Independent Healthcare)

Born  London, not far from White Hart Lane so could have been a Spurs fan (if I liked football, that is...which I don’t).  Did OK in school and trained as a high flying secretary;  a job,  I found out;  when I was doing it 8 hours a day, bored me rigid!  However it stood me in good stead for joining the ranks of the self-employed.

Work history goes like this.  Got into telesales by accident; got involved with a BUPA adviser who needed a really great lead generation service; trained in all aspects of private medical insurance; worked for BUPA, worked for Aviva and then worked for another broker. In between (whilst children were small) ran cleaning crews, for 2 Tesco stores;  did a stint in B&Q twilight shift as interiors adviser; and sold life insurance but, always, always come back to health insurance. Own brokerage has been going 8 years.

Have lived in Poole, Dorset and now based in Lisburn, Northern Ireland.  Married twice with 2 sons and 3 stepdaughters.

Hobbies are....(where’s the time for hobbies when you run a business!) OK.. hobbies would be, (if I had the time) dancing, sewing and interior design.  Love holidays in really hot countries.

Ambition: to achieve a house in France and an apartment in Turkey!
