Strategic HR/Organisation Development

In challenging times, it is often less than easy for Organisations to see beyond the ‘here and now’ particularly in relation to their employees/colleagues.  In these times, the focus is often on reducing the headcount, with little consideration given to future needs in terms of staffing skills and numbers.  We have specialist knowledge of Workforce Planning practices and we can work with you to develop a framework for workforce planning, that is tailored to meet your specific organisational needs.

We may also work with you on other HR-related strategic development needs and other longer-term projects, which include: -

HR Advisory Services

There may be occasions when you find it necessary to bring in additional HR resources; to deal with a particular situation or at times when your own resources may be stretched (e.g. during peak holiday periods etc.).  We can help by providing you with that additional support needed at the time when it is needed most.

Some areas which we may be able to assist include: -

  • Disciplinary/Grievances Investigations
  • HR Policy Review and/or Development*
  • TUPE Management

Training and Development

We specialise in developing and delivering training packages and workshops in HR-related areas e.g. HR policy Application.

Our approach to working with clients to deliver training and development interventions is flexible.  We will meet with you to discuss your particular requirements for training programmes/workshops and can offer you a total package, where we will develop and deliver the workshops, along with all the relevant materials.  Alternatively, we can develop a toolkit comprising all of the relevant materials; workbooks, tutor notes, presentation materials etc. for you to deliver internally.

Coaching and Mentoring

Coaching and mentoring are useful to improve the performance of individuals in a range of professional situations: -

  • Coaching - by turning the actions of individuals into learning opportunities in a considered way with appropriate guidance
  • Mentoring - providing a structured approach to knowledge-sharing and more directive learning for the individual.

We provide support to individuals on a 1:1 basis through coaching and/or mentoring interventions, as part of a planned programme of development or in response to specific needs. 

When establishing a coaching or mentoring relationship with a client, it is important to us to know that we will be able to provide the necessary support and to work with the individual to enable them to achieve their goals and objectives.  We therefore offer an initial session; either in person or on the telephone, free of charge, for both the individual and ourselves to determine if a good working relationship can be formed. 

We are members of the Milton Keynes & North Buckinghamshire Chamber of Commerce. 

About Helen Smith

Helen has spent over 17-years working as a Senior HR & OD Practitioner in a number of public and private sector organisations.  She has spent some time specialising in Workforce Planning and this has been complemented by her broad experience and knowledge in the field of Human Resources and Organisational Development.  Helen is a Chartered Fellow of the CIPD, a Chartered Manager and Member of the CMI.  She is educated to Masters Level and holds a masters degree in Employment Law and a BA (Hons) in Business Information Management.  In addition, Helen is a Prince 2 Practitioner, NLP Practitioner and Coach.

Helen thrives on the challenges she sets for herself in her private and professional life and this has culminated in the formation of her own business; Crescita HR & OD a provider of high quality Human Resources and Organisational Development services and interventions.
