A Microsoft Certified Small Business Specialist providing IT support and consultancy to companies within the counties of Yorkshire. Formed to provide a tailored IT service for small to medium sized companies adapted to their individual requirements and cost base.
We are here to take the stress out of computing and to allow you to do what you do best, run your business. Whether you are a 1 person start-up or a company employing 100 people we are happy to meet and have a chat about your problems / issues / plans or just how you can get more out of your IT system. Where we can help we will happily quote for any work, but most importantly where your problems are best met by specialist companies we will advise accordingly and happily make a no obligation introduction to these trusted companies.
As a company we do everything related to IT from hardware and software to Cloud services, backup and Office 365. But we are also a Yorkshire company, which started in the middle of this recession and who know the value of money and that service really matters. We are small and intend to stay small so we can serve our customers. Our strap line Taking the Stress Out of Computing is how we think and work with our customers.
We will not charge for a first meeting and are happy to provide advice without any obligation on your part.
I was very fortunate to be accepted onto the first integrated MEng program for Electrical Engineering at the University of Bradford in the early eighties. Five years later I had graduated and was still keen to learn, so I came back to Bradford to do a PhD in 3-D graphics and parallel computing. Along the way I was appointed as a lecturer and started teaching students who were only a few years younger than me. A very scary experience.
Seven years later and I had my PhD and was looking for a change. Eventually, I moved to Pace in Saltaire as a software engineer working on the new Digital TV receivers. I stayed at Pace for 13 very happy years, working on a number of set-top-boxes for companies such as Sky in the UK and Canal+ in France. I travelled all over the world representing the company at event and talking to customers. For the last seven years I worked within the various future technology groups looking at how the internet was affecting digital TV.
In late 2009, after a restructure of the company I decided it was now time to branch out on my own, doing something that I had been thinking about for the last couple of years. The Business plan was almost complete, so we decided it was now or never and Aire Valley Computer Solutions was born.
