Alastair has been doing massage for nearly 20 years, first as a hobby and now as a business. He is qualified in the European style of massage ("Swedish Massage"), Indian Head Massage, and also Sports Massage.
Alastair is a skilled stressbuster - massage is the best form of stressbusting which is neither illegal nor intoxicating.
Alastair will also ease away aches and pains and invigorate tired bodies. Sportspeople will particularly benefit from body maintainence, but folk who have acquired aches over the years will also benefit from treatment.
Alastair caters for individual clients and also corporate clients. He will come to your home or to your workplace. Alernatively, if clients prefer, he can use rooms in the Hebden Bridge Therapy Centre.
Alastair has had an interest in massage ever since he was on the receiving end of one whilst on holiday in Turkey nearly 20 years ago. He felt so good afterwards that he vowed to learn how to do it, and learned Swedish Massage at Morley College in London after his return from holiday. He has been doing massage for family and friends as a hobby ever since.
Alastair's day job was as a town planner in the Civil Service, formerly in Whitehall but latterly in Manchester at the Government Office for the North West where he was Head of Housing. When the new Government announced that the regional Government Office network was to be abolished, Alastair took early retirement and decided to make a bisiness out of what had hitherto been a hobby.
Alastair has NVQ Level 3's in Swedish Massage from Kirklees College and in Sports Massage from the (embarasingly named, if you are a bloke) Central College of Health and Beauty in Leeds. He also has a Certificate in Indian Head Massage.
Alastair lives in Hebden Bridge, but is prepared to travel. He has portable massage kit and can visit client's home or workplace. He can also hire rooms at Hebden Bridge Therapy Centre.
Alastair is an experienced public speaker from his days in the Civil Service. He has given talks about massage to all sorts of audiences. He is always on the lookout for a new gig.
