Martin Gaunt (The Computer Technician)

I am a sole trader with a fully equipped workshop at my home in Stanley Street, Bedford. I also visit many local businesses and private homes.

I believe in providing the highest standards of customer care and quality workmanship. I think my professional approach and commitment to quality has helped me to build a successful business with many customers coming back time after time.

I am a CompTIA A+ Certified Professional and CISCO Certified. In addition, I have many years of experience in the computer repairs industry, having worked with well known local businesses and residents.

I have many contacts within the industry which enables me to source top quality products for stock at very competitive prices.  

I have been around for a while 54 years.

I have worked in the Name Plate Industry, I was a Reprographic Technician, mainly Camera, and Darkroom work. (5 years)

I then worked in the oil industry, this was Reprographic again, but also Aerial Survey.

This was using aerial photography to survey for Gold and other things including counting coffee Trees.

I did the darkroom work, film processing and print runs.

Left the above Job in 1988 to go and work in Saudi Arabia, military mapping the whole of Saudi Arabia on a years contract (I stayed for over 5 years) This was doing all aerial photography and Satellite image processing, very new Tech at this time.

Met my wife to be In Saudi a Filipino Nurse.

Cut a long story Short spent from 1993 to 1998 living with my wife and soon to be 3 Kids in the Philippines. Very Near an active volcano Mayon.

We ran a few businesses there, a shop and 24hr canteen and a bakery.

It was only hand to hand living so returned to the UK In 1998, went back to work for the same company I left 10 years before in the oil industry, then made redundant.

Spent 2 years as an IT trainee at The Papworth Trust a disabled charity with 7 sites around the UK.

One year spent running IT in 10 Luton school.

Then in 2006 Started the Computer Technician.
