For Crooks Commercial Solicitors, establishing trust and building long-term relationships with our clients is one of our principal objectives.

We are not a general law firm but a specialist law practice. Our clients can expect technical excellence combined with our focus on delivering real value and exceptional personal service.

We are particularly careful to avoid giving legal lectures and focus on delivering clear advice based on common sense and sound commercial judgement which is tailored to our client’s business goals.

A key aspect of our client focused service is our flexible charging structures. In many cases we can undertake work on a ‘structured fixed fee basis’ which means that clients stay in control of their legal costs. This helps to ensure that our clients work closely with us without the concern of escalating time-based fees.

About Nick Wilson

I qualified as a solicitor in 2000 and have practised as an employment lawyer ever since. I actually joined the legal profession with the best of intentions - to help people, to be intelectually stimulated etc etc. i found very quickly that the legal world is a lot different  from that. I discovered my niche in employment law and became particularly interested in Employment Tribunal representation.

I have seen employment law from both sides of the fence, initially acting for the employee and then for many years I have been acting for the employer.

I have worked in large regional firms including Last Catwhra Feather, Ford & Warren and Hempsons. I have worked with a diverse range of clients including SMEs, local authorities, NHS Trusts, Primary Care Trusts, national public transport service providers, logistics companies and manufacturing companies.

I have extensive experience of all areas of employment practice including representation at Employment Tribunal across the country for large employers. I advise clients on redundancies, TUPE, Trade Union/industrial relations issues, restructuring, contracts of employment and policies, internal disciplinary and grievance procedures, restrictive covenants/injunctions, compromise agreements and consultancy agreements. I have a near perfect record in Employment Tribunal hearings - dont go with angbody who says they have never lost - they only take easy cases!

Following an exhilarating round the world trip in 2011, I have joined my colleague Michael Crook as a director in Crooks Commercial Solicitors Limited. Our objective is to provide excellent levels of service whilst always providing real value to our clients.

We are interested in working with your business, helping you to achieve your objectives and developing a long-term business relationship.

In addition to the extensive employment advice service, we also provide employment law training for your business and EMPartner - an employment law support packages with legal expenses insurance to cover your business in the event of a Tribunal claim.

Outside of work I am a wannabe professional golfer and male model. When I have stopped dreaming, I like a good film and some tasty food. Oh and I support Manchester United.
