My name is Philip Aucott and I am the owner/manager/creator/sole proprietor and general dogs body of Philip Charles Photography. Charles is my middle name for those who are curious, and the only reason I use it is because most people have a little trouble pronouncing my second name. I am the proud father of my two beautiful children Luke and Eve when I'm not hard at work, spending time with the family is top of my list.
I was a keen photographer from an early age, in actual fact I managed to get my hands on a cheap 35mm SLR when I was about 14. This fuelled my passion and I soon perused a career in my much loved hobby. When a graduated from college I realised that getting a full time job as a photographer was looking a little bleak, so my chosen profession had to take a back seat while I earned some money and gained some valuable life experience. During this time my photography was just a hobby that earned me a little cash when it could, it was only when I got made redundant from my full time job that I realised it was time to take the big leap and go full time with photography. This was a difficult decision we only had my redundancy pay and my daughter Eve was due to be born, we knuckled down as a family, and although many hard times followed we were all much happier as I became to realise that this had been the missing chunk of my life for more than 10 years.
I'm always trying to explore avenues and bring something new and creative to my customers. I have built some really strong ties with local suppliers and they are always trying to think outside the box with me. Product development, training and equipment investment are all key to the continuing growth of the business. I would love to expand from the current studio to larger premisses but at the moment my little studio above the bank suits me quite well. I love to send customers away happy and hopefully those people are the future of Philip Charles Photography as a solid reputation and recommendations are key to my brand.
