Electricity is an essential part of modern day life and ensuring it is installed safely in your premises is paramount. The Building Regulations (Part P apply to electrical installations) state that nearly all new domestic electrical work has to be certified by a competent person.
RJQ Electrical is an ELECSA registered company based in the Newport area and covering all aspects of electrical design, installations, testing and maintenance in the South Wales area. We pride ourselves in modern methods of installation with high quality products and services and regularly work with home owners and landlords.
Why choose me to do your work ......
- I’m a professionally qualified chartered engineer (CEng) registered with ELECSA (an electrical industry regulatory organisation) and TrustMark (Government endorsed standards) so you know my previous work has been assessed and approved to stringent standards.
- I hold the highest level of City and Guilds qualifications in electrical design, installation and testing so you know I am technically proficient and competent to work on your electrical installation.
- I believe safety and quality of service are paramount in every installation I complete so you can rest assured all work I do will be to a high standard. Your satisfaction is my businesses reputation.
- I am fully security vetted and CRB checked to UK standards.
My business is to ensure that any electrical work I undertake for you is completed to the highest standards, giving you a reliable service and value for money.
I am a UK trained engineer originally qualifying with a degree in Engineering from Manchester University. Upon graduation I worked for 20+yrs for one of the largest defence contractors in the world in a variety of positions encompassing not just engineering but commercial, customer support and laterly project management from Europe to Australia!. Throughout my 'company' career I maintained a hands-on approach to engineering, qualifying as a Chartered Engineer.
In tandem to my “full-time” career I always held an interest in electrics and undertaken numerous rewires of houses and other works on domestic installations for family and friends, mainly at week-end and on holidays!. With the change in legislation in the UK in 2005, essentially requiring any domestic electrical work to be undertaken by a ‘qualified’ person, I went back to college to keep myself up to date with the regulations and also to further educate myself in my knowledge of electrics.
Having gained my further electrical qualifications I set-up my company to provide domestic and commercial electrical services based around a value for money and quality service. As throughout my working life, the main requirements of my business is that all work is of a professional and honest nature, genuine and trustworthy with no hidden extras!.
My long term goal is to be the professional of choice for all Electrical Services in my local area, known to provide a reliable professional service at a competitive price, dealing with each client from first contact to quotation and then right through to completion to the highest standards.
WITH THE SALES PITCH OVER WHAT AM I REALLY LIKE .........
Recently solvent as both my children graduated in 2012 and have entered the real world of work and providing for themselves (fingers crossed it lasts!!) .... however there is a down side as this year I also get married and she has expensive tastes in shoes & handbags ;-(
Struggle and cry like a weeping baby because the little white golf ball never does what I want it to do! Wish I'd started earlier at it instead of concentrating on those rugged ball sports. Fitness however has always been a part of my lifestyle and up until a couple of years ago I was also dabbling with triathalons, however running was never my strong point. I tend to be built for speed and power more than endurance.
When all else gets me down I enjoy tinkering with my car, a 3.5 V8 Cobra replica which I built myself over a 4 yr period --- I remember a fuzzy haze of frustrating late nights calmed down with alcohol building it. And having invested all that time, Im too scared to put the pedal all the way down to the metal when driving!
And in a past existence I had a job that involved dealing with Triads in the Far East ( very secretive but with sufficient alcohol applied I could possible reveal more .....)
And finally I like this from another web site. My hourly rates ......
£25/hr
£35/hr if you want to watch.
£45/hr if you want to help.
£75/hr if you tried to fix it and failed.
