Independent Financial Adviser
DipPFS, CeMAP, ER1.
“Are you totally independent?”
Do you know what? Yes, I really am. I've no axe to grind, and I'm not representing any companies or pushing products.
“Do you come recommended?”
As a member of AFH Wealth Management, I'm recommended by the Federation of Small Businesses. Lots of financial advisors are in the FSB, but I'm one of the few the FSB actually recommends to its members.
Hello, I'm John Clapham.
There are lots of reasons why you could need me. There might have been a change in your circumstances, and you need to know where you stand.
Maybe something's been on your mind for ages. But you don't have to worry about it urgently, so you keep putting it off.
A lot of people have what I call a 'time capsule pension' - one they stopped paying into some time ago. You might have one and be wondering what to do about it.
Perhaps you've got money in the bank, but are unhappy with the interest rates and thinking of investing it somewhere else.
Maybe you have investments that haven't been reviewed in a while. Changes in legislation may have occurred, and it could mean you now have more options.
Business owners often consult me about areas such as reducing tax liability via Company Pensions (including their new legal requirements under the Pension Act), getting the tax man to pay towards their life cover and key person insurance. Private individuals ask about life cover, mortgages, equity release and pensions, including annuities and income drawdown.
So yes, there are all sorts areas in which I can provide advice.
I've been in the financial services industry for 16 years, and before that I spent 8 years in an accountancy environment. I've got a few qualifications too. So you could say I've done my homework.
Essentially, I help you do three things: reduce your costs, minimise your risks and protect your assets. And it's all for one reason: the future security of you and your family.
I offer a free initial consultation, at a time to suit you. Please give me a call. I'll be happy to arrange it.

About IFS Group
Sound financial advice is one of the most important professional services you can call upon. It can make an enormous difference to your life and your family's future.
Many financial advisers can only recommend products or services from a specific group of companies. They may do their very best, but effectively, they remain tied to corporate interests. They can't offer you everything on the market.
That's where IFS is different. All our advisers are completely independent. We are not tied to any bank, nor any investment company or insurer.
When you consult with an IFS adviser, they are not looking to serve anyone else. Our only motivation is to advise on what's best for you.
It's why we've been able to build loyal, long-term relationships with our clients. That's individuals like you, as well as a huge range of organisations. The Chartered Management Institute, the National Union of Journalists and Reliance Mutual Insurance are just some of the national organisations who trust IFS and recommend our advisers to their members.
IFS advisers are also recommended by the Federation of Small Businesses for providing impartial advice to FSB members.
