With over 15 years’ experience in copywriting, marketing and PR, my passion is to creatively use the power of the written word to help individuals and businesses to effectively communicate their message.
I enjoy working closely with people to devise a personalised campaign, identifying effective ways of infusing their professional psychology and key messages into the written word and communicating them to the right audience - raising awareness and ultimately helping to generate new business.
Services include creative copywriting for websites, promotional material, professional profiles, success stories, social networking and blogging, e-newsletters, right through to full magazine production (including content, design and print), coordinated PR and marketing campaigns and innovative promotional events.
I have worked with clients of all sizes (from individuals through to blue chip companies), in a wide range of industries (from telecommunications to the music industry!). Whether it’s a one off press release or company profile or an ongoing PR campaign or publication, I work closely with people on a 1-2-1, to make sure they communicate what they really want to say, to the right audience.
Following my graduation in Modern Languages from Aston University in Birmingham in 1996, which included a placement year in Grenoble in France, I worked for a prestigious auctioneering company in Geneva, Switzerland. After a period of travel in Asia, Australasia and North America, I returned to the UK in 1997, where I set up my own event PR and promotion business.
From the early days of promoting regular sell out concerts at venues such as Southwell Racecourse in Nottinghamshire, UK, I went on to promote various artists, which included some of the biggest festivals and events in over 20 countries across the world – from Switzerland to the US and from Lithuania to the Caribbean.
Since 2000, I have worked with hundreds of individuals, business and organisations of all sizes across the UK, gaining a wealth of contacts and experience in producing publications, creating online content and coordinating PR and marketing campaigns in many different sectors.
On a personal level, my interests include sport (in particular skiing and tennis), travel, live music and fine food and wine, so it’s not uncommon for a business meeting to be attached to something a bit more active, edible or social! I am always up for a challenge too (either professional or social) so often find myself taking part in random charity events or innovative (but extremely worthwhile) voluntary projects.
This year, SMP celebrates its 15th year in business – I am very excited to see what the next 15 years brings!!!!
