Hate the Phone but know you need it??
...most people do. Particularly in an age when it is almost impossible to get away the things!
The fact is, however, that for many businesses, the phone still represents the cheapest, fastest and most straight forward of getting in front of the people they need to talk in order to present their offering. But, as the phone is now an essential accessory, it means that all of us are constantly being bombarded by, and becoming less receptive to, approaches from unsolicited callers.
In short, this means that the skills needed to get through the minefield of defences surrounding the person you need to talk to, have never needed to be more robust. Even more importantly, as and when you do reach your target, the importance of identifying your key message and delivering it in the most engaging and concise manner (in only few seconds), has never been more vital if you are to make headway and increase your rate of face-2-face selling opportunities.
My experience spans over 30 years. Today, I still spend 10 days a month making calls on behalf of other organisations, (including part of the Government), who want to get in front of senior people in large organisations.
