Pet sitters go international

A determined married couple, have both battled serious illness to launch their innovative and award winning pet and house sitting business.
During 2006, their hard work saw them receive a Barclays Business award, which was supported by the Prince’s Trust.  Barclays Marketing Director,  stated that this award was a celebration of unsung heroes who, in spite of great personal challenges, have taken steps to establish a sustainable business and in doing so, have changed the direction of their lives for the better.
Nina Cole, who suffered a brain hemorrhage at the age of 39, shortly after her husband Douglas was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, stated that the benefits of allowing animals to keep their regular routine and eating habits, plus the security of a lived in home while the owners were away, were enormous. This type of service allows pets to stay in familiar surroundings, keeping their regular routines and not being subjected to kennels or a cattery. The client also has the bonus of a lived in home while they are away. Nina is also keen to point out, that in order to maintain home security, their pet and dog sitters do not wear uniforms, travel in marked cars, or have guests.
They also have comprehensive public liability insurance and their pet and dog sitters are fully vetted, with a police background check. They are also adept at administering medication and caring for pets with special needs.
Nina is also a champion of animal welfare and often appears in the media to outline her concerns.  She has given her support to Bruce Forsythe and Dolly's Directive campaigns, to highlight the lack of scanning for microchips in veterinary surgeries and is currently highlighting the plight of Greyhounds when they finish their short racing careers.
Their business, Nina’s Nannies for Pets, was founded in Hemel Hempstead, in Hertfordshire, and now has pet sitters throughout the South of England.  Confirmation of their new international pet sitter status has created a huge amount of new clients. The company now offers its service throughout Europe, but insurance restrictions means that they cannot offer their service in America or Mexico, even though the internet continues to bring people to their door. Nina also stated that they often receive interest from the United States, in particular California, since these people seem extremely keen to secure an English pet nanny for their animals!
Nina is currently recruiting for animal lovers to join their busy team of pet sitters. They are looking for people who have experience of domestic pets (experience of livestock is a bonus but is not necessary), to stay within their clients homes, caring for their pets and properties while they are away.  It is also a great opportunity for people/couples to travel and earn some extra money, while enjoying the company of pets, without the responsibility.
