TALK IS CHEAP! FORGET THE

ECONOMIC SLOWDOWN

People literally talk themselves into a recession and all it takes is one commentator merely whispering the words ‘recession’ and the stock markets begin to wobble.

Momentum then builds and unless swift action is taken, usually by the Government’s huge ‘spin doctor’ department or in the Bank of England, a crash is inevitable. Belief is such a powerful thing – it can topple economies.

In business, the same thing holds true. If we truly believe that a recession or down turn in the market will affect us, then it probably will, because of our belief structure.

However, some of the best businesses are formed when a market slowdown takes hold. It’s the best time to start a company in my opinion - we can create leaner, faster and more adaptable business models.

It’s a bit like surfing – ride the wave when it’s low and starts to build, then the momentum lifts you higher until you’re on the crest of the wave!

Businesses that are lean survive. Surplus spending only creates bloated and fat companies that are unable to manoeuvre at speed. It’s working smarter, not harder that creates success in business.

I’d like to share with you 3 really inexpensive ways of growing your business on-line, because I believe that this is a very easy and inexpensive way of doing business - a smart way.  Just look at 4-networking and it's success online!

By implementing these strategies, you’ll acquire new leads, strengthen relationships with existing customers and add new income streams to your business.

 # BUSINESS SUCCESS TIP 1
Generate income streams whilst you sleep

This is a really fast and simple way of generating extra income. Set up a niche site which will profit from the down-turn. What do people want? You can do some research on this and then set up a simple three page website.    This is less expensive than forming a new business and can be ‘tweaked’ faster to produce results. Set up something like Google Ads and you can profit from associated link businesses and affiliate programmes.

#BUSINESS SUCCESS TIP 2
Set up a blog – build relationships with new and existing customers:

Start writing – and if you can’t employ a copywriter, or find someone who will write these on your behalf. Blogs are a really great way to personalise your business. They build stronger relationships with your customer base and search engines love fresh and frequently updated copy. It will increase your search engine rank and drive more visitors to your site.

#BUSINESS SUCCESS TIP 3
Create an affiliates programme – use other people’s contacts:

The more email addresses you have, the more potential customers you can access. A simple and inexpensive way of driving traffic to your website is to link with an associated business – preferably one’s with large customer email lists.

Offer a free report, service or product and get your business affiliate to send a lengthy email (which you’ve written on their behalf) to their list. Of course, in this email there will also be links to your website/products. You can tap into potentially thousands of other customers this way – and don’t forget about third party endorsement (it’s very powerful).

The consumer nowadays is becoming very selective – they’re hunting for more value for money, higher standards of excellence and companies that will go beyond the call of duty.

For us to keep ahead of the competition we need to keep our eyes and ears open for new opportunities and have unwavering, optimistic belief in ourselves and our products.

Dare to be different.  When someone starts muttering the words recession - smile and think: 'Recession = Opportunity'!
