My Business and My Battle

I thought long and hard about an article to write; something i'm an expert on; advice or such.  However, I'm still learning - in both business and my chosen profession.

So, I thought and inspirational message might suit...

Recently setting up my Yellow Storm Limited, an internet company, I struggle, but enjoy the challenges of trying to make the most of my life.

Two or three years ago, I could not have dreamed of even attempting to run my own business.  I was suffering to extremes with anxiety and agoraphobia - to the extent of not being able to leave the house.  From May 2005 until June 2006 I never left my home once (living in a second-floor flat).

Very slowly, I began to regain some of my life.  It has been a very long and sometimes seemingly impossible road to recovery.  To cut a long story short, I met a girl and got married.  Even then I continued to struggle badly and had moments where I felt like giving up.  I battled on.

Finally, as if I hadn't had enough to contend with, the UK Home Office sent my wife back home (to Peru).  They gave us wrong/misleading  information which resulted in her visa being invalid.  So, I was left all alone.  I couldn't go with her.  There was no-way on earth I could go.  I could hardly go to the shops, so travelling halfway round the world was totally out of the question.  I was very alone and my health suffered badly as a consequence.

After two months of my life beginning to spiral out of control again, I decided I had to do something about it.  I just had to get to Peru.  Whatever it took; I just had to be with my wife again.

In November 2007, I made what was the biggest achievement of my life.  I got on that flight to Peru.  It was by no means an easy thing for me.  It was well worth the effort, though.  My wife has made my life easier.  It has still been a struggle, but she helps me through it.

Now, I'm still suffering a lot from my anxiety, but I've found an excellent therapist and am having weekly sessions.  I battle everyday with my problems, but I am and have always been determined to make a success of my business.

One day, I will be free of my illness and one day Yellow Storm Limited will make me proud.
