Time Management
People have probably been telling you about the importance of time management since the day you were given your first homework assignment. You've heard it mentioned so often that it is easy to brush it off and say "I manage my time just fine, thank you very much". The truth is this: everybody could use a little help with their time management skills.
Here are a few tricks to help you manage your time wisely:
- Keep lists. Lists will help you keep track of what needs to be done.
- Keep a schedule. It might sound boring, but if you make it a point to schedule appointments and tasks, you are more likely to be there and finish them on time.
- Be reasonable when scheduling time for meetings and tasks. Sure, you might want to finish that marketing report in an afternoon, but you need to ask yourself if you can really get it done so quickly. You should always schedule extra time for the completion of tasks and meetings. That way, you will not have to worry about one meeting overlapping another.
These are just three time management tricks to help you keep track of your time. As you go on, you will find your own tricks to make sure that your time is not ever wasted.
