Business Networking Referrals
What are business networking referrals? Your business network is a network of business contacts (clients and partners) that can help you increase the size, scope and profit of your business. There are several ways for a person to build up their network referrals, but before we get into that, let's talk about what networking is and why referrals are important.
Anybody can put an ad in the paper, do good work and wait for word of mouth to help their business grow. A true business person, on the other hand, knows that part of owning a business is networking and building up a stable base of business networking referrals to help them both find new clients and expand their business practices.
A network of business referrals is sort of like a large client base. Only this base isn't made up of potential clients. It is made up of other contacts in your target market—people who can refer new clients to you and to whom you can send clients who might be in need of other services. The networking referral relationship is one that benefits all parties involved and can cross market lines.
Before you open your doors for business, you should start working on building a steady base of business networking referrals. They are just as important as your clients.
