Why training can work!

As a training consultant I am often told that training is a luxury expense.  "Training is not vital" they tell me.  When I explore this it becomes clear that they have had a poor expeience of training.  If a Leadership expert tells you that they have a great course you and all your team should attend I recomend you ask them how they know its a great course for you?

Each organisation is unique.  There are some great theories about Leadership and some brilliant books on the subject, but that does not mean that it is right for you and your business.  It is often true that great business owners are tradng in the area they are good at.  Accounting, training, construction, photography to name a few.

This does not mean that once you get larger as a business that the people you recruit will repricate your approach.  Good training is about analysing the skills and competencies of the best people in an organisation and finding ways for others to learn these skills.  Only then can training be designed and delivered which achieves real results.  There is a reason why you have your childrens feet measured before buying their new shoes.  You want to make sure they fit!  Use training which fits your business.  There is not a one size fits all in really strong results training!

Training can work if you choose wisely.

Left QuoteHi David

Read your article and have to agree with you!

I see you are in Stanstead Essex, so guess you visit a breakfast group up there - are you a passporter?

If so, let me extend an Invitation to you to join us at Winchester, Hampshire.  The group is having a "4N global meeting" on Thursday 17th July, our 4sight speaker is Michael Copestake from Mapleleaf Solutions (from your part of the 4N globe).

We are inviting members from other groups all over the 4N network as Winchester is recognised as the Gateway to the South (and of course used to be the capital of England)!!

Hope you can make it
