Workplace Wellbeing

ONLY HALF OF BRITAIN’S SMALL BUSINESSES have bosses who have considered introducing programmes such as health information lines and private medical insurance that help staff to stay healthy and support them after they are unwell.   Most of the private medical insurance companies have a 24 hr call in number you members can use to quick assistance or support with any worrying matter.  The government is focussing a lot more on occupational health and thus insurers now also offer nutritional health assistance and also counselling. Just 51% of bosses surveyed on behalf of Standard Life Healthcare as part of its annual Attitudes to Healthcare survey encourage their staff into healthier lifestyles, the insurer said. However, more than three quarters (77%) said that employers should be directly involved in supporting their employees’ health and wellbeing. Around the same number (76%) said that employees would find it more attractive to work for an employer who supported employee health and wellbeing, although far fewer (58%) thought it would improve staff loyalty. Worryingly, fewer still (around 50%) believed that programmes would reduce the number of sick days or improve employee health and wellbeing generally.

A lot of companies just renew their policy year after year without even being aware of added benefits insurers have to offer to its members.

If you have not had your policy serviced and would like to find out if you can reduce policy costs whilst increasing cover, please give me a call to do a Free of Charge Assesment on your existing policy.  I will most likely be able to offer you a reduced premium cost with added cover.
