No Time Limits...
Isn’t it amazing how a few words can spark your imagination?
Yesterday during a conversation with a client, based on how to develop a logo for business, I was presented with an incredible statement – “A good idea has no time limits”. Immediately I thought this is something to get my creative juices flowing…
So, you want to start your own business? Had enough of working for someone else? Got a whole bunch of great ideas just brimming at the surface? Got your finances sorted?
But there’s one thing you’re stuck on – your logo or business identity?
Surely a logo is simple enough; it’s only a visual way to represent your business…
Let’s consider the statement –“A good idea has no time limit”.
Firstly, you are taking a huge step in your life to work for yourself, to move away from job and income security. Surely you have spent time thinking about all the pros and cons that go with this? How will you manage month to month if you have little or no income etc?
Secondly, as you plan to sell your fabulous business idea to the world, you will need to have a strong logo or identity to set you apart from your competition? Will you take time to develop your idea to create a unique identity?
Think outside the box. You have your idea, but rather than thinking the “obvious”, why not think laterally?
Brainstorm your ideas. Write down everything that comes into your head – even your ideas that are out of the ordinary.
Ideas can spark. Use your imagination. Think and rethink your ideas, put everything in the pot, look at all avenues.
Associate but be different. Broaden your creative thoughts. Don’t narrow yourself to one train of thought.
And it’s not just about your logo or identity. Using your imagination and brainstorming your ideas can also help you in other areas of your business. It may lead to developing ways to launch your product or service or to highlight obstacles you might face with your new venture.
Discovering the right look for your logo or business identity shouldn’t be rushed. Think of your idea as something you plant, water and nourish, so that it can grow and continue to grow into a strong and well established body.
Ideas can take minutes, hours or days or they can continue to develop with you and your business.
