MEGA Health

We are over fed but undernourished. We were better nourished during the war years than we are now. Strangely, obesity levels are growing exponentially. Something has gone wrong somewhere!

There are 160 nutrient deficiency diseases common today. 90% of illness is metabolically related. Heart disease, cancer, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's and diabetes are all preventable conditions.

How can these be avoided.

1)     Change Diet! Eat as much fresh, organic, unprocessed food. Include filtered drinking water.

2)     Reduce the toxic load on our bodies, from preservatives, household, bathroom & personal care products.

3)    Boost health with supplements We need over 90 nutrients every day to lead a healthy life. These include 60 minerals, 12 amino acids and 3 essential fatty acids - follow the MEGA plan.

M is for Minerals & Multi Vitamins

Most food is now minerally deficient. There are no natural cycles for replacing minerals into the soil our food grows in. The land is over farmed, crops are no longer rotated, and fields never lie fallow for one year in three. The body is unable to synthesize minerals so ther is no alternative but to supplement our diets with minerals. Colloidal mineral supplement are the easiest to absorb.

Plant foods are rich in phytochemicals, which alkalise the body promoting health and preventing disease. The more acid the human body the more inflammation. Most people's bodies are extremely acid. This leads to premature aging, heart disease, cancer and many other degenerative diseases.

The easiest way to consume large amounts of "greens" is to buy a complex of dried plant powders which are mixed with water and drunk. This provides the body with a cocktail of essential vitamins, minerals, amino acids, enzymes, antioxidants and phytochemicals that work synergistically together to promote vibrant health.

A is for Anti-Oxidants.

Since the 1950's more than 3500 man made chemicals (including pesticides, antibiotics and hormone residues) have found their way in to processed foods. There are an additional 884 toxic substances found in personal care products. These chemical produce free radicals which damage the cell membranes and DNA, advancing aging and causing diseases like cancer, cardiovascular disease, and other degenerative conditions. Fortunately, nature has provided a solution with anti -oxidants that neutralise free radicals preventing damage.

Eating food rich in anti oxidants is a wise choice, these include grapes, goji berries, tomatoes, green tea, and brazil nuts, but it is also sensible to boost anti oxidant intake by supplementation with vitamins A,C,E, Grape seed/ pine bark extract, Coenzyme Q10,  selenium, zinc, and curcuminoids.

If you want really vibrant health, more energy, resilience and stamina, then follow the MEGA plan

E is for Essential Fatty Acids.

These cannot be produced by the body so they must be present in the diet. There are two main types, Omega 3 and Omega 6.

Most modern diets are lacking in Omega 3. Good sources are oily fish, such as salmon and mackerel,  and fish oils. They are essential for brain function and boost vision, learning ability, coordination, memory, concentration and mood.

Omega 6 fats thin the blood preventing clots and lowering blood pressure. They also decrease inflammation and pain, boost nerve function, enhance immune function and assist insulin function thereby  maintaining a good blood/sugar balance. Good sources of  Omega 6s are Evening Primrose Oil, other  seed oils, and seeds like sunflower pumpkin and sesame.

The cell membranes in our bodies  are 75% fat. Eating the wrong fats (saturated fats like those from dairy products, meat and margarine) make the cell membrane hard and impermeable to nutrients. Most people eat far too much bad fat and don't eat sufficient good fat, which reduce the risk of cancer, heart disease, arthritis, eczema, infections and fatigue.
