I've been attending 4N Oxford for almost a year now and have got to know Karen Adamson from OK Direct.
Ages ago, Karen asked me to start to think about working with her. We managed to miss each other at a few meets, then 2 weeks ago I trotted round to her office after 4N.
To cut a long story short, Karen's husband, Greg, intorduced me to a business idea he had been working on. We chucked about a few ideas and today, Karen and I have agreed how we will work together.
Never have I tried to sell to Karen, or she tried to sell to me. It took almost a year for me to get to know her, and her to trust that I could help them with their business.
Moral: If I'd tried to flog something to Karen at her first meet she probably wouldn't have joined. We wouldn't have got to know each other. She wouldn't have become a 4N Oxford legend for her woeful timekeeping. We wouldn't have ultimately hit it off and decided to work together on something. Don't judge based on your first meet. On paper, Karen and I have very little in common. Perseverance, friendship and mutual trust eventually worked!
