4Networking’s very own grammar angel was lost for words recently after winning the coveted and near legendary ‘Orange Chair’ from furniture supremos Kinnarps; many will recall the chair has toured round many 4N groups.
Jane Penson is the illustrious group leader at Gerrards Cross, runs Grammar to Go, a friendly company that helps individuals and organisations ensure their grammar comes up to scratch.
The Orange Chair was presented to Jane by Steve Jones from Kinnarps at last week’s 4Networking meeting in Gerrards Cross and now takes pride of place in her office and is ensuring that she is sitting pretty while saving the world, one apostrophe at a time.
“It is a wonderful chair,” said Jane. “It is so comfortable and there are so many ways to adjust it that it even fits a little person like me! I feel that my posture has improved already –and my cat is delighted too as I’ve donated my old chair to her. Kinnarps make some amazing furniture and it is fabulous to win this excellent chair.
“To enter the competition you needed to download a picture of the chair from the Kinnarps website and then take your own photograph of their photograph in an interesting scenario or location. I had a beautiful miniature table that had been given to my parents by a furniture maker and together with a few other miniature chairs, I made a nice tableau and the finishing touch was a tiny book that had Kinnarps on it! “I know other 4Networkers who entered the competition from my group and I imagine that many others did too as the ‘Orange Chair’ did tour quite widely, so I am really thrilled to win it.”
Jane has been touring herself with an entertaining 4Sight Slot based on her free email service: ‘17 Days to Better Grammar’ and over 60 have signed up from 4Networking and many more via her Twitter accounts @JanePenson and @GrammartoGo – have you signed up?
Jane has delivered 4Sight Slots at Harrow and Slough already in January 2010, and is booked for High Wycombe on 24 February. She is happy to accept invitations to speak anywhere from Reading to Oxford and Bracknell. You can sign up for the free email course 17 Days to Better Grammar on the Grammar to Go home page.
Note from Nigel: What great PR for Jane Penson, Kinnarps and of course 4Networking! Did you see the Orange Chair on its tour? There is a great PR lesson about the value of competitions here!
