oh, and you can add in my newly diagnosed coeliac disease which affects every single thing I eat for the rest of my life and has led to me having anaemia, mal-absorption of nutrients, and needing blood tests, bone scans, appointments and I am now getting some of my carbs from the chemist on prescription!

I've been pretty lucky generally although I did have to have my heart 'reset' once by those ECG paddle things. I was technically dead for a few seconds before they 'rebooted' it.
It's not like the movies, you get marks like you had two irons pressed on your chest and every single muscle in your chest (and there are a lot of them) is pulled.
It's that or breaking my banjo string.

i was once stabbed 7 times and air ambulance came and rushed me to hospital.
I have to add that I won that fight as he legged it afterwards while i wa still on my feet. He was damaged too and i was unarmed. I then collapsed in that shop and i remember one of the sales assistants (that i had an big crush on) cradling my head and crying in her gorgeus french accent) please don't die.
I was also diagnosed with an over-active thyroid, had surgery and now its under-active)

You missed out the most important part of the story though, did all that drama help you 'get the girl'?

No she was happliy married. I didn't try to get the girl because of that fact. Oh the assailant was arrested one week later across the street by CID with me in attendance. He had gone in another shop and was looking uo womens skirts with a small mirror. We observed him from an obs van and then CID moved in. He defended himself in court and pleaded not guilty due to self defence. he alleged that I (a trained martial arts "expert") had attacked him and he then had to go out and buy a knife to defend himself with...(shakes head) He was a youth worker employed by the council BTW
