was just wondering what made you start up in business or go self employed.

The reason i have made the move is that i worked for my mam and dads packaging company for 7 year and after there company went bankrupt last year ive been unemployed knowing that there is a market for this business and having past customers willing to buy off me it gave me the push to do it myself.(took 8 month to build the bottle and to sort things out like)

At least ive learned from my mam and dads mistakes dont over trade and keep an eye on who you give credit to and for how much. The real thing that ended my mam and dads company was 5 companys going bankrupt in the space of 4 month owing us money.

Ouch - the knock on chain effect.

For me, i'd had enough of having to justify and "pitch" for payraises.. also having marketing initaitves rubbished as unworkable and so thought lets try my own business and see if my marketing skills stood up. Which they did!

I was made redundant, didn't have to take it but saw the opportunity to bring forward a longer term plan

Didn't want to work for the minimum wage so started providing web design & development about 8 months ago.

Going quite well but I think I'm still going to need to get a part time job to keep it going.
