CHIT CHAT [What is the cheekiest freebie/expense you've ever claimed/had?]

Things like a putting a lap dance, new suit, full body massage on company expense's.  Or has anybody taken the "All Expense's Paid" to a whole new level?

I did a show at the NEC with an old employer and we claimed crates of beer, cigs, hotel payper view, mini bar, room service.  Basically went totally stupid and it all got signed off and paid!  I was rooming with the MD so he couldn't really argue as most of it was his idea!:)

Before that an old employer went in to liquidation and we were all made redundant, i was there on the last day clearing my stuff from the office and after all the other staff had left the MD asked if I new anyone with a van?  I said I did so My friend, my old boss and I literally did a total office strip down even the copper wire!.  I was only 18 at the time and it is only thinking about it now that i realise quite how dodgy & illegal that was!  At the time I thought "well it's his company, if he wants take it!".  He gave me a top pc, fax machine, telephone and some software for my trouble so I was well happy!

£4,500 during 7 days in Cyprus, not including flights or the hotel bill. But I was with my MD so it was cool.

£650 in an establishment just off Oxford Street a couple of years ago. They photocopied the relevant company credit card statement poster size and pinned it up on the wall, so it was there when colleague and I turned up to the Christmas party. Do not ever go into a private club in Mayfair when you are a) obviously drunk and b) admit that you have a company credit card with you

£300 in one night in the bar at the hotel I used to stay at

So, no, never abused it at all really.

Sophisticats?

It appeared on the credit card statement as 'Perfect Restaurants Ltd'. Obviously we must have had an expensive dessert.

Sure it was off Oxford Street, Stef? The place we used to use regularly was on Tottenham Court Road. regularly took clients there and 4 figure nights were not uncommon, but perfectly acceptable in the IT industry. It did help that I was the FD and that self & CEO signed of each other's ex's!

Definitely off Oxford Street. Although I understand that the establishment off the TCR is also very tasteful.

We rounded the night off proper by getting a black cab home from Marble Arch to Eynsham, between Oxford and Cheltenham. £150.

Every time my sales team got an order I took them for lunch, they picked up the bill and I signed it off. 5 teams in the region and ours accounted for 41% of entertainment expenses. The IT industry again!
