I came home once with a 4.0 litre Jeep Wrangler, perfect for family shopping trips, not. Didn't go out to buy a Jeep, but it seemed like a good idea, I think beer was involved:

Now..although (see another thread), I do from time to time make purchases not unlike those above, my most stupid was on a smaller scale.  I bought a pick axe.  Which I did not need then, nor do I now!!!

Thank you, it was ace, but it used slightly more petrol than a space shuttle and got through tyres like other cars get through screen wash, so not entirely practical or prudent.

Used to sound like the world was going to end when I started it up

I'm not one for impulse buying but a male friend of mine was sent out to buy a tv by his partner and went back with a drum kit.  Another time went to buy the sunday joint and didn't return. 

It seemed quite funny, but wouldn't have wanted to be on the receiving end!!
