I am seriously stressed, got a headache like never before and i keep getting the "had enough" felling, which is really wierd!

I am normally really up for anything, even a bill i can't pay doesn't bother me (all 9 of them!!), smiles all the way!! they will get paid-when i do!

When you do get the feeling, do you take time out? grin and bear it? see what tommorrow brings?

Steve,

Dont dispair, when you've had enough just down tools and have a break! Get your head together and then go back to it. We are all to guilty of clinging to the mountain without looking up occasionally to see where we are going and understanding what the really important things in life are. Family, friends, health the rest is just something we have to do to pay the bills or not as the case maybe.

Dont worry, dont stress, your alive, there's a lot of people out there in a worse position! Good luck.....

Hi Steve

I was having a bad morning and posted online here - I got more support than I expected and some enquiries.  I was only asking people to cheer me up - I only expected jokes.

I was worried about posting something negative - but it did me the world of good in the end.  Just writing down that you're having a bad time helps.

Listen to and sing along to your favourite music track whilst sipping your favourite glass of wine. Works for me every time. Then put today behind you and plan for a GREAT TOMORROW!

The music thing works for me everytime. I find those tracks that have made me feel good throughout my life and crank them up. Singing along makes it even better.

For anyone that knows about 'The Secret', you'll know where I am coming from.  For those who don't you'll think I'm as mad as a box of frogs.

Take time out - go for a walk/drive, lie down - whatever you feel relaxed doing.  Think about all the things in life you are grateful for.  And be grateful...really really, with no ifs or buts.  Think of all the good stuff.  Then think about what you want and imagine you have it already - how does it feel, what is life like.  Start to be grateful for what you have and it will come to you.

It really sounds like a load of hocus pocus but I promise you, it's found me parking spaces and brought me work.  It's brought me contact from people I wanted contact from.

But, you have to focus on what you really want.  Don't think about the how.  Cos then you will think of the 3 gazillion reason you can't do it and then you're focussing on the negative.

Have you noticed how positive people get 'lucky'.  No, it's the law of attraction.  What you think abut and feel about is what comes about.  Promise!

Good luck.

Also, loud music and driving fast with the windows open helps ;-)

Steve - feeling like that is a real, and regular, downside of running your own business.  Or being in a high pressure job in someone else's business.  Each has there own way of coping, and here are some thoughts:

1. Take some time out - not much, just enough to clear your mind. Do what relax's you  - music, company, a hobby for example.

2. Focus on why you started.. Remind yourself of your goals and your motives.  Have a chat with yourself, reclaim the motivation, the vision of the prize.

3. Sleep.  Seriously.

4. Have mentors. These are not just friends. These are the people or person who you can mood dump on and they will just listen.

5. Review your workload.  It must pass some tests.  Is it the right tasks. Is it necessary.  Is it helpful.  Is it sustainable.  Your goal is success, not exhaustion.

6. Look for perspective.  Its not easy. But it is a key skill.

7. Award yourself a whole day of easy stuff you can complete and get confidence at doing.

Not all the answers..but a start....you can do it Steve!

Switch on my 4N happy lamp. (Cue Simon Thornton)

If it was that easy, everyone would be doing it. I find the odd afternoon on sofa with wet flannel on my head sorts me out.

I try and disconnect from the pressure and think 'I dont care what happens'. I do the same at football, I think 'I dont care if this pass connects or not' and it takes the pressure of and I get better results. Of course I do care and this advice may be nonsense but it works for me if I am stressed.

As long as it's rock music, you're so right.
