For a couple of weeks I have been preparing and collating a quotation for a fellow networker. I met Ringo (name changed to protect the innocent) about five years ago at Richmond Rugby Club during a networking event. I have been friends with Ringo since then, attending various group meetings. Ringo is a litigation lawyer for a top London company (now you know why, the change of name) his strap line is "If it moves I'll sue it"
Ringo has very kindly introduced several of his friends and colleagues for us to finance all types of assets, computers, telephone systems, vehicles and even a boat (sorry, marine vessel) but we have not financed his own vehicle? This has been due to his company's arrangements which have been contracted out. So you can imagine how delighted I was to receive a telephone call at eight am, when just about to enter a 4 Networking meeting at Aylesbury. Ringo wants a Jaguar XF 2.7 Diesel for his next company car. So after lots of calls we finally have a price, specification and delivery schedule in place and confirmed.
Ringo is in Buenos Aires (on business) but he has confirmed the acceptance for the order. What can we take out of this? Is it persistance, charm (doubtful), pricing structure, friendship, tenacity. Well actually, I like to think that our friendship, cemented through networking, which has finally paid dividends. And its our first order confirmed from South America!
