BUSINESS 4NETWORKING [Too Many Contacts]

I went in to a computer shop yesterday and handed the owner a 4N pocket guide to try and get him along to a meeting, He told me he already has a massive network and knows loads of other business owners!

Clearly a get out of my shop, i don't want to talk to you moment! but how many contacts would be enough?

I'd say it's unlimited and you never know where the next job will come from.

Anyway, Mr Computer man if you took my advice and came on here then well done.

Hey Paul, Its a funny old thing but so many people tell me they have enough business and don't need any more !!!! Lucky for some I say as the old credit crunchie nibbles at our toes. Never enough work and besides as we all know 4 N is not just about work is it ! He's missing out on a great bunch of people and a great way to start the day with a 4N brekkie

Totally. You can never know too many people. 4N is an alien concept to most its quite difficult for non-networkers to get there head around it, hopefully The Pocket Guide goes some way to help with that.

Would you go into a 3 hour exam, work for 2 hours, reckon you have got 70% already and then stop writing for the next hour?

Brilliant post Steve!!

Paul, I will try to avoid buying computer stuff in our area (East Herts?!?) for fear of doing business 'by accident' with such a luddite!

It is an odd approach.  For the avoidance of doubt, I can handle more contacts.  Bring them on!  If I get too busy, I will use my 4N contacts to recruit more resource!

Seriously, how can you have too much business! Surely if you've got loads of business it's time to get more in and expand your business, unless of course you started the business to give yourself a job, in which case why? it would be easier to just work for someone else.

What's an O Level?!

Back on subject; Paul did you notice his helicopter outside, Phillipe Patek watch, or any other such give-aways of his obvious success? Or could you more imagine him to be exactly the same bloke who moans about business being tough right now to his mates, and worrying about making ends meet at the end of the month?

I know not everybody aspires to being extremely wealthy but 9 times out of 10 it's just an excuse for laziness and they 'admit' that by playing the lottery or getting caught up in conversations about 'if I was rich...'.

I totally agree with you Liz, it's not just about new business, since joing 4N Imet some great people and have lots more contacts which is great. I don't know why anyone would say that they have enough business though, if you want to grow your business, new business is the only way forward.

Claire

It's a funny thing but we are kind of in the position of currently having "enough" business. Whilst we are still taking on new clients, because there are only 3 of us we are usually working at full stretch. Ideally we would like another member of staff but can't currently afford to pay a decent salary for someone qualified which is what we need. We are thinking about a part time post at the moment - just working out what we would need to pay and whether we could maybe do it on a casual basis for now.
