The Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA) has issued a contract notice to establish a seating installation framework of a maximum of three companies for the London 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games.
The scope of works comprises the design, installation and dismantling of temporary seating and associated structures including staircases, vomitories, gangways and handrails and may also include the removal and reuse of the temporary seating and associated structures. There will also be a limited number of permanent seats and associated structures.
It is currently predicted the ODA’s requirement will be approximately 33,000 seats across approximately five venues. Of this total number, approximately 3,000 seats will be permanent. The potential number of seats may range from 1,000 to 12,000 seats per venue.
For further information refer to the pre-qualification questionnaire via the eTendering website.
Interested bidders may only express interest via the eTendering website. Expressions sent by any other means will not be accepted. Those expressing an interest must complete a pre-qualification questionnaire (PQQ) and are advised to submit expressions of interest (EOI) at the earliest opportunity in order to allow sufficient time for completion of the PQQ. Please note that interested bidders must meet the ODA's mandatory pre-qualification requirements.
The deadline for expressions of interest and completed PQQ submissions is 12pm BST on 24 December 2008 via the eTendering website.
Those successful in qualification will be invited to tender.
Please continue to check the London 2012 Business Network and the eTendering website for the latest information on the 2012 project.
Best regards
The London 2012 team

Just relating to another conversation going on on 4N, Claire is one of the 'little' businesses who I'm delighted to have as a member in Witney.
Great to see you on here Claire - where on earth did you dig this out from!

What is a vomitary?
It's not as gross as it sounds! It's an opening in a stadium or similar which allows large numbers of people to enter or leave at a time.
Nothing to do with how I was feeling on Sunday morning at all!

Great that Claire.
I would be interested in talking to the people about specifying the colour for the seating. I'll check out the link, but I bet it's a tender for the seat companies, and I'd like to contact the "committee" to get my colours (day job) specified.
